Welcome to the Food Safety and Control Laboratory of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture. The work done here is research and development of analytical methods, based on both nuclear and complementary techniques. The transfer of such tried and tested techniques assist Member States in improving their control systems regarding food safety, food authenticity and fraud, in ensuring responsible production and building trust, in facilitating market access and fair trade, and in preparedness and rapid response to emergencies and food crises.
