The IAEA’s Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications runs 12 laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. Ranging from food and agriculture to human health, water resources, marine and terrestrial environment to the use of nuclear instrumentation, their work is essential to the Agency’s support for Member States in using peaceful nuclear technologies and in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Five of the laboratories in Seibersdorf are part of the Joint FAO/IAEA Centre of Nuclear Techniques in Food and Agriculture.
