European Medical ALARA Network (EMAN)

History

The EMAN project, supported by the European Commission, has been launched by the end of 2009. This project aims at establishing a sustainable European Medical ALARA Network (EMAN) where different stakeholders within the medical sector will have the opportunity to discuss and to exchange information on different topics related to the implementation of the ALARA principle in the medical field. In particular, the project includes the setup of three working group to discuss the following specific topics: optimisation of patient and occupational exposures in CT-procedures; optimization of patient and occupational exposure in interventional radiology; radiological safety for patients and personnel un activities using X-ray equipment outside the X-ray departments.

Objectives
