IAEA Marks World Cancer Day with Expert Discussion on Treatment Advances, Capacity Building

Prominent medical experts will join the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in marking this year’s World Cancer Day with a public event on 1 February to highlight the latest advances in radiotherapy and other IAEA-supported tools helping countries address a growing global burden of the disease.

IAEA Conference Looks at Advances in Nuclear Technology to Tackle Global Challenges

Ministers and other high-level representatives of governments and international organizations will gather at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) this week to review the contribution of nuclear technology in key areas such as food security, human health, industry and the environment. The IAEA Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology: Addressing Current and Emerging Development Challenges, will take place in Vienna, Austria, from 28 to 30 November.

Tokyo Press Conference on the IAEA’s Fourth Review of Japan’s Plans to Decommission Fukushima Daiichi

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will hold a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, on 13 November at the end of the IAEA’s fourth review of Japan’s plans to decommission the Fukushima Daiichi site.

The IAEA International Peer Review Mission of Japan’s Mid- and Long-Term Roadmap Towards the Decommissioning of TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station Units 1-4 was requested by the Government of Japan. It follows three previous reviews, two of which were carried out in 2013 and one in 2015.
