The June 1996 IAEA Bulletin edition focuses on IAEA’s efforts to address environmental problems. Efforts include initiatives and action plans, projects to track pollution sources, assistance to Central and Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States for the environmental restoration of uranium mining and milling sites, and evaluating approaches for comparing wastes and disposal methods from energy chains. Featured articles also report on the IAEA's nuclear data centre and the particular role of developing countries in it, and on IAEA technical co-operation projects in Malaysia that have helped build up the country’s levels of expertise. This edition also includes an issue of Inside Technical Co-operation, which covers several of the current IAEA’s Technical Cooperation projects.
