Description

Justification is a fundamental principle in medical radiation protection, which requires that the benefits of using ionising radiation outweigh the risks and hazards.

This webinar will consider the importance of addressing the justification process for individual medical exposures within national regulations and the translation of this into hospital policies and procedures.

Furthermore, the expert will present international initiatives, roles and responsibilities of staff, allocation of resources, patient expectations and practical tools to improve justification. These include imaging referral guidelines, computerised decision support systems, education and training, audit and inspection.

Presenters

Steve Ebdon-Jackson, Radiation Protection specialist, former Head of Medical Exposures at Health Protection Agency, Oxford, United Kingdom

Moderator
