Obando, Jose Antonio

Dr. Jose Antonio Obando is the former Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at the Connecticut VA Healthcare System in West Haven Connecticut and former Associate Professor of Diagnostic Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven. While there he served as a member of the Yale Radioactive Drug Research Committee (RDRC) and the Yale Radioactive Investigational Drug Committee (RIDC). He served as the chair of the Radiation Safety Committee at the Veterans Hospital and continues to be an expert consultant in PET for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Dr. Obando is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He is a past president of the New England Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and in 2018 was named the recipient of the Hollman-Kaplan award by the New England Chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
