Haidar, Mohamad

Dr Mohamad Haidar, President of the Arab Society of the Nuclear Medicine, is an Associate Professor at the American University of Beirut and the Director of Nuclear Medicine Division and Cyclotron Facility, as well as Director of the Nuclear Medicine Fellowship Program.

Apart from being an Associate professor in clinical diagnostic radiology at the American University of Beirut, he is currently a part-time professor in a number of well-known national universities.

Following his graduation with an MD from the Lebanese University in 1995, his studies became oriented towards nuclear medicine. He obtained his training in Nuclear Medicine from the University Paris VII in France in 2000, and completed his academic training in several fellowship or training positions at the Bichat Claude Bernard Hospital, Saint Antoine Hospital in Paris and at the Zurich hospital. Since his return to Lebanon, he has held supervising positions of nuclear medicine departments in a number of Lebanese hospitals.

He was President of the Lebanese Nuclear Medicine Society from November 2011 until May 2015, and is currently a member of different national and international scientific and medical societies.

Dr Haidar has delivered many talks and papers in national, regional and international meetings. He received an award for his research work in 2009 at the Middle East Oncology Congress (COMO VIII), Beirut, Lebanon and in 2018 at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
