Choudhury, Partha

Dr Partha S Choudhury is an internationally acclaimed leading Nuclear Medicine Physician of India with special interest in Radionuclide Therapy of various types of cancers who pursued his nuclear medicine post graduate training in India. He was also trained in St. Vincents Hospital Sydney, University of New South Wales Australia and has over 25 years of experience in nuclear oncology. Since 1998, he has been working in the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre Delhi India, which is a tertiary level cancer institute of repute with post-graduate and specialty teaching.

Dr Choudhury has been instrumental in the institute’s sustained growth over the last 20 years which has one SPECT-CT, two PET-CT scanners and facilities for radiopharmaceutical therapy. He has introduced and standardized new procedures in the department, both in terms of disease-specific diagnostic and molecular imaging, and molecular therapy. He has been an invited speaker in conferences and symposia across many countries and regions, such as the United Kingdom, Romania, Austria, South Africa, South America and Asia. He is a technical co-operation consultant, expert faculty in regional training courses, and recipient of multiple travel grants of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Vienna.

He is the recipient of many other investigator awards, such as UICC scholar award for World Cancer Congress, Asia Oceania distinguished young investigators award of JSNM, best researcher of the year 2015 from his institute and the prestigious Brig S.K. Mazumdar memorial award of SNM (India). He has best paper awards to his credit, notably the Lancet Asia Medical Forum 2007 Singapore. Recent publications include original articles (in thyroid cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer and neuroendocrine tumors), editorials and editorial commentary in peer-reviewed journals, conference papers and case reports.

Dr Choudhury is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) USA, Society of Nuclear Medicine India, Association of Nuclear Medicine Physicians of India (ANMPI), Society of Oncological Imaging India and WARMTH. He is currently the President of the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical & Molecular Therapy (WARMTH) 2020-2021, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Asia Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine & Biology (AOFNMB) 2017-2020. He was a Member of the Scientific Committee in the 5th Theranostics World Congress 2019, Jeju Korea and Organizing Committee Commissioner at the 13th Asia Oceania Congress of Nuclear Medicine & Biology (AOCNMB 2019), Shanghai China.
