How to Request

Doubly Labelled Water (DLW)

If you wish to perform an analysis of the data in the database there are several steps to follow:

  1. Examine the list of planned analyses. Someone may have already proposed the analysis you are thinking of doing. If your analysis is novel, then it may be possible to perform your analysis. It is important therefore that if another analysis seems similar to what you are suggesting you indicate in your application the novel aspects of what you propose.
  2. Examine the sample data set to determine if there are sufficient data in the database for the analysis you propose.
  3. If you think you have a novel analysis plan, the data can be requested here
  4. The form will be distributed to the management group for comment. The presumption is that all requested analyses will be approved unless they are already under review or listed as an approved plan.
  5. Once approved, the analysis description will be added to the list of approved analysis plans on the website and the Database Manager will be in touch to arrange the transfer of requested data.

 

The Primary Requesting Investigator confirms:

  • The Requested data may only be used on an exclusive basis according to the ‘Purpose of Data Request’ provided.
  • The Data is only to be used for the stated in the non-commercial purpose submitted in the ‘Data Request’ and may only be made available to the Requesting Investigators.
  • Further access to the Data, or sharing of the data, wholly or partly, to third parties or online platforms is not authorized.
  • The IAEA is committed to ensuring fair and equal access to the Data on an exclusive basis. All analysis and manuscript preparation should be completed within 18 months from the date of provision of data. After this time, the license to use the Data will lapse and no further use of the Data is authorized. The data must be deleted or a new request for the license may be submitted.
  • Manuscripts submitted for publication using the database must adhere to the following terms:
    • Appropriate acknowledgement of the IAEA as the source
    • Authorship: All Contributors shall be offered co-authorship on papers derived from the Data. If they do not so assent, they will be listed among a ‘consortium’ list in supplementary materials
    • Members of the management group shall be listed alphabetically and should be Co-corresponding Authors.
    • Other authors involved in the paper preparation can be included as the Primary Investigator sees fit.
    • All co-authors shall review and approve the paper draft before submission.
    • Publication fees shall be incurred by Requesting Investigator(s).

 

The Data is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
