Nuclear Medicine Physics on-line seminars

The IAEA has a long history of producing and publishing teaching and training materials in nuclear medicine physics. One example is the Nuclear Medicine Physics Handbook, which provides a comprehensive overview of modern nuclear medicine. Additional training materials, in the form of teaching slides, have been developed for each chapter of the handbook.

Tutorial videos for Quality Control tests on PET/CT scanners

The IAEA published in 2009 a technical reference book that provides guidance on acceptance testing of PET and PET/CT scanners, including guidelines for routine quality control of the equipment. The PET/CT Quality Control tests described in this publication adhere closely to the NEMA standard. As a supplementary training tool, 8 tutorial videos were produced, demonstrating, in practice, the procedures to perform the tests described in the IAEA Human Health Series No.

Tutorial Videos on Quality Control for CT

In 2012, the IAEA published a technical report for establishment and implementation of quality assurance programmes in CT: IAEA Human Health Series No. 19. The report provides guidance on quality assurance (QA) methods to promote the effective use of radiation for a diagnostic outcome through achieving and maintaining appropriate image quality. Computed Tomography (CT) plays an important role in diagnosis and localization.
