Technical Cooperation Side Events at the 62nd IAEA General Conference

This year, the IAEA holds its 62nd regular session of the General Conference from 17 to 21 September. In addition to its exhibition, meetings and signing events, the Department of Technical Cooperation will be hosting three side events during the week.

The first side event will take place on Tuesday 18 September at 14.30 in room C3, 7th floor of the C Building. Technical Cooperation: Delivering Results -Together we can make a change in fighting cancer will showcase IAEA support to Member States‘ efforts to address cancer through capacity building, technical support and approaches to financing.

The second side event, The Intercontinental Nuclear Institute (INI): How it Benefits Member States, which will take place on Wednesday 19 September at 10.30 in room M5 of the M building, will showcase the Intercontinental Nuclear Institute, focusing on benefits to Member States, and featuring the experiences of some INI alumni.

In the afternoon, four women from the African region, leading figures in their fields and role models to the young generation of women, will hold a panel discussion to raise awareness of the need to include more women in nuclear science and technology. Entitled Women in Nuclear: Leadership for TC Programme in Africa, the event will take place on Wednesday 19 September at 14:00 in room C0213 of the C building.

Finally, the Department of Technical Cooperation will present a new exhibition on the first floor of the M Building, alongside the other Departments of the IAEA. Staff members will be available at the exhibition to answer any questions and to provide information on the work of the IAEA.
