Tajikistan Signs its Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2019–2023

Ilkhom Mirsaidov, Director of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency, signed Tajikistan’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2019 –2023 on 17 December 2018 in a ceremony attended by Ana Raffo-Caiado, Director of the Division for Europe, in her capacity as acting IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation.  The CPF was previously signed by Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Tajikistan has been an IAEA Member State since 2001. Its 2019–2023 CPF identifies 6 priority areas:

  1. Nuclear and radiation safety and security
  2. Food and agriculture
  3. Human health
  4. Environment
  5. Science and industry
  6. Radioactive waste management
