InTouch+ is an IAEA web platform that enables authorized Member States representatives to submit, endorse and approve applications to participate in technical cooperation (TC) events, including training courses, fellowships, scientific visits, meetings and sponsored participation events. A new edition of InTouch+ was launched today, 21 October, with new features that allow Member State stakeholders to easily create and edit their profiles, to identify which IAEA events they are eligible to attend and to quickly produce overviews of their national engagement with the TC.

“With the interface updates, we have responded to the feedback, input and expectations of our Member States’ stakeholders,” said Puspak Barua, Head of the TC Department’s Information Technology Unit.

InTouch+ users include prospective event participants, in addition to appointed project counterparts and country approvers—such as National Liaison Officers (NLOs), National Liaison Assistants (NLAs) and National Coordinators for Regional Projects (NCRs).

Once logged into their InTouch+ profile, new and returning users will discover an improved search tool, a simplified profile creation and completion process and a new ‘statistical overview,’ which allows country approvers to better understand and identify their pending tasks. Additionally, a broad suite of actions central to the functionality of InTouch+ have been streamlined—users can now easily find the technical cooperation events for which they are eligible, submit event applications for further review by the IAEA, or review participation requests by potential candidates.

On 19 September, on the margins of the 63rd IAEA General Conference, the IAEA Secretariat held a side event to showcase a beta version of the latest edition of InTouch+. More than 50 project counterparts and country approvers participated in the event, elaborating on the feedback and opinions they had previously shared and posing new questions to the attending IT specialists.

A month later, on 16 October, after considering and implementing proposals made by Member State counterparts during the General Conference event, the Department hosted a curtain-raising event at which they demonstrated the final, release version of InTouch+.
