Pregnancy Survey

The International Basic Safety Standards (GSR Part 3) requires specialized radiation protection measures for female workers in medical facilities that utilize ionising radiation (diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, image guided interventional procedures and radiotherapy facilities) to protect both the worker’s health as well as the health of any unborn children in the case of pregnancy. The IAEA is conducting a survey among its Member States to understand radiation protection situations of female workers around the world. The brief survey takes about 10 minutes and is submitted anonymously. It is intended to be completed by regulators or radiation protection officers and health professionals in medical facilities. The information will be used as part of the IAEA’s activities on radiation protection and worker safety in medical facilities and for planning future actions.
