Oman Signs its Second Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2018-2023

HE Mr. Badr Mohamed Zaher Al Hinai, Resident Representative, Permanent Mission of Oman to the IAEA, and Mr Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, have signed Oman’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2018-2023 on 28 September 2016. 

A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Oman has been an IAEA Member State since 2009. Its 2018-2023 CPF identifies 5 priority areas:

  1. Food and Agriculture;
  2. Water resources;
  3. Human health;
  4. Environment
  5. Radiation Safety and Security
