IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano visited Tehran today, 20 September, and met with President Hassan Rouhani, President of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. He also met with members of the Iranian Parliament.
Discussions with high-level Iranian officials focused on the continued implementation of the Road-map to resolve all past and present outstanding issues. As part of the implementation of the Road-map, the Director General visited the site of Parchin, together with the Head of the Department of Safeguards, Tero Varjoranta.
In his meetings with high-level Iranian officials, the Director General also discussed issues related to the verification and monitoring of nuclear-related measures under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
