IAEA and KISR sign Practical Arrangement to enhance cooperation in the area of marine environmental monitoring and protection

The IAEA and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) are now working together to address marine environmental monitoring and protection challenges.

Under the practical arrangement, which is a document defining the scope of cooperation under this new venture, and signed by both organizations, the IAEA and KISR will jointly: collaborate to further strengthen, through IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme, the institutional and technical capabilities,  exchange of data of mutual interest and relevance and  dissemination of unclassified information and results of research activities in the area of marine environmental monitoring and protection including marine ecosystem management, marine monitoring programme and Harmful Algal Blooms.

Naji Al-Mutairi, Director General of KISR and Dazhu Yang, Deputy Director General of IAEA Technical Cooperation Department signed the Practical Arrangement on 17 September 2015 in IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
