President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has conferred the Order of "Francysk Skaryna" on a number of foreign political and pubic figures in recognition of their distinctive services in the charity work, successful implementation of humanitarian projects in the Republic of Belarus, considerable personal contribution to the recovery and rehabilitation of the areas affected by the Chernobyl nuclear plant accident.
The awardees include IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei; Piero Cacace, Director of the audit company "Servizio Imprese" (Rome, Italy); Klaas Koops, president of the Dutch charity organization "Stichting Rusland Kinderhulp"; Patrizio Petrucci, assessor for voluntary activities, civil defence and tourism of the province of Lucca (Italian Republic) and Maria Hetzer, chairperson of the Austrian charity organization "Help to Children from Belarus".
