Responding to a Nuclear Security Emergency (ConvEx-3)

The IAEA's Incident and Emergency Centre (IEC) was put to the test during a two-day exercise to assess how the centre would respond to a nuclear security emergency involving a "dirty bomb". Fifty-seven states and ten international organisations took part in the exercise, which is known as a ConvEx and takes place every three years. The head of the IEC, Elena Buglova, discusses the purpose of this kind of exercise.
