Nuclear Science for Sustainable Development Goals: Life Below Water

Production: Svetlomir Slavchev and Aleksandra-Ana Panic

Science and technology are crucial for development. Nuclear science plays a significant role in the achievement of many of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of health, hunger, energy and the environment. Oceans absorb around a quarter of all CO2 emissions. Nuclear techniques are used to study this process and its effects on sea life.

The 2016 IAEA Scientific Forum highlights the contribution of nuclear technology to the SDGs.
