Women face barriers at all levels to enter and grow in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The IAEA has launched a Fellowship Programme to enable more women from around the world to pursue a STEM career, with a special focus on nuclear science and technology. Named after pioneer physicist and twice Nobel Prize recipient Marie Sklodowska-Curie, the Programme aims to inspire and encourage women to pursue a professional career in nuclear science and technology. In the long term, the Programme will contribute to a new generation of female STEM leaders, who will drive scientific and technological developments in their countries.
