Regional Training Course on Pressurized Water Reactor Technology Using PC Based Basic Principle and GlassTop Nuclear Power Plant Simulators

19 – 23 Feb 2018
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
Event code: EVT1703123

Participants in this training course will be able to increase their knowledge on advanced Water Cooled Reactor (WCR) technology, in particular Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs). The use of PC-based and GlassTop simulators will facilitate a better understanding of the physics and technologies of PWRs.

The aim of this training course is to provide participants with sufficient know-how so they can continue to use PC based simulators and the IAEA ARIS database in their own education, training and/or research activities. The hands-on ‘learning by doing’ approach during the course includes exercises and examples that participants may further use in teaching and training activities in their national institutions.

The course topics are suitable for students, instructors, and professionals working in nuclear industry, owner/operator organizations, research institutes and regulatory authorities.

The Regional Training Course on PWR Technology is hosted by the Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
