30 Jul – 3 Aug 2018
Trieste, Italy

Jointly organized by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since 2004, this Nuclear Knowledge Management (NKM) School focuses on methodologies and practices for rolling out NKM programmes. These include processes and tools, challenges and benefits, culture influence, human resource development, IT for knowledge preservation and sharing. Learning materials are supplemented with NKM programme case studies from nuclear organizations.

Mandatory pre-training via e-learning is conducted prior to the event to build a common understanding of fundamentals and to allow a more efficient communication among peers and lecturers during the in-class School. Lectures are delivered by recognized experts and followed by case studies, practical work and breakout sessions, where participants have the opportunity to discuss common challenges and solutions. NKM group projects are also developed over the week.

The NKM School is being hosted by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy.
