Published ten years after the Chernobyl accident, the September 1996 IAEA Bulletin edition examines its consequences. It contains reports by experts who clarify the facts about the accident and examine its environmental, health, and social and psychological effects. The Joint FAO/IAEA programme on nuclear techniques in food and agriculture helps take agricultural countermeasures to radioactive contamination. The IAEA, in co-operation with the UN Department of Humanitarian Affairs (UNDHA), organized the April 1996 International Forum "One Decade After Chernobyl: Nuclear Safety Aspects"; published here are excerpts of its conclusions. This edition also includes an issue of Inside Technical Co-operation, which covers several of the current IAEAÕs Technical Cooperation projects.
