67th IAEA General Conference

25 – 29 September 2023, Vienna International Centre, Vienna

Tuesday, 21 May

Radiation is widely applied in health care for diagnosis and treatment. Its appropriate use is fundamental to optimize clinical outcomes and cost–benefit, while minimizing risks. Quality assurance, used to monitor processes, equipment and personnel, provides confidence that patients receive the best possible care. With their unique expertise, clinically qualified medical physicists (CQMPs) play a key role in ensuring quality. They have competences to deal with patient and staff dosimetry, and ensure the implementation of quality assurance programmes and radiation safety standards. Despite their importance, there is lack of awareness and recognition of their role in many countries.

This event will be held on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, from 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in Conference Room CR5, C Building, seventh floor.
