1.     Treaty Event

The Treaty Event aims at promoting universal adherence to the most important multilateral treaties for which the Director General of the IAEA is depositary. In this respect, as was the case in previous years, the event provides an additional opportunity for Member States to deposit instruments of ratification, acceptance, approval, or accession.

This event will be held on Monday, 26 September 2022, from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. in Meeting Room M0E68, M building, ground floor.

2.     International Nuclear Safety Group Forum on the Safety Aspects of Nuclear Facilities in Armed Conflict Situations

The International Nuclear Safety Group Forum will be dedicated to the safety of nuclear facilities in armed conflict situations, specifically with regard to the safety challenges and how to address them. These and other issues will be raised, experiences will be presented and there will be an opportunity for discussion with the participants.

This event will be held on Monday, 26 September 2022, from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in Conference Room CR7, C building, seventh floor.

3.     Nuclear Operators’ Forum: Benefits of Harmonization for the Operating NPP Fleet

The sustainability of the operating nuclear power plant (NPP) fleet is largely dependent on the fleet’s supply chain. In recent years, the number of available suppliers and differing standards have caused challenges for operating NPPs. Operators have identified harmonization of their interface with the nuclear supply chain as a key factor for economic and reliable operation of the existing and future NPP fleets. At this event, senior managers from international, non-governmental and nuclear operating organizations will present the progress achieved, discuss current efforts and share their views on challenges, opportunities and benefits of harmonization, as well as presenting practical solutions.

This event will be held on Wednesday, 28 September 2022, from 1.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. in Conference Room CR4, C building, seventh floor.

4.     Senior Safety and Security Regulators’ Meeting

At this event, heads of regulatory authorities and other senior regulatory officials in the fields of nuclear, radiation, transport and radioactive waste safety and nuclear security will discuss regulatory challenges and share good practices. The event will also focus on IAEA Secretariat initiatives to support regulatory bodies.

This event will be held on Thursday, 29 September 2022, from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. in Board Room D, C building, fourth floor.
