Objectives

Provide Member States an understanding of the current state of development of technological and methodological means to address this issue, including by deploying artificial intelligence and best practices, as discussed at the October 2018 Symposium.

Specific objectives

provide Member States a useful service in identifying and evaluating:
Multilingual methods and tools that have the potential to be implemented by Member States to detect false and misleading narratives

provide Member States a useful service in identifying and evaluating:
Multilingual methods and tools to encourage the spread of the most accurate information in order to protect public safety and preserve emergency response institutions’ ability to serve the greater good

Assess the effectiveness of methodologies to identify instances of online concern caused by misinformation and take steps to rectify misrepresentations in multiple languages by offering an overview of specific online, multilingual methods and solutions and any quantifiable proof that specific actions and response strategies demonstrably produce positive impact in addressing virally distributed misinformation.
