How Long to 2020?

50-1

Sep, 2025

During the IAEA General Conference in September 2007, the Director General Mohamed ElBaradei announced that he was establishing an independent Commission of Eminent Persons, drawn from a wide range of expertise, to reflect upon the nature and scope of the AgencyÕs programme up to 2020 and beyond. The September 2008 IAEA Bulletin issue starts with an outline of the distinguished commissionÕs vision, which was given in its May 2008 report. It then provides articles on several topics at the heart of the AgencyÕs work and world. These topics include nuclear non-proliferation, agricultural improvement, fight against disease-spreading mosquitoes, nuclear energy and its public image, nuclear safety and security, nuclear forensics, and communication, both of risk and of science.
