IAEA's Technical Cooperation Work in Costa Rica - Interview with Esther Anchia

Producer: IAEA Department of Technical Cooperation

Maria Esther Anchia, Vice-Minister, Ministry of Health, Costa Rica, speaks about cooperation with the IAEA's technical cooperation programme, the role of the national regulatory authority, and the importance of the IAEA’s support in capacity building in Costa Rica.

In February 2017, participants from the Latin America and the Caribbean region met for a week to prepare proposals for radiation safety projects for the 2018-2019 IAEA technical cooperation (TC) cycle. The proposals were based on a radiation safety assessment of each country, and on the individual national priorities defined for the upcoming TC programme cycle.

During the meeting we had the chance to interview Ms Anchia and to speak to her about the impact of the IAEA’s TC programme in Costa Rica.
