Production: Svetlomir Slavchev and Aleksandra-Ana Panic

Science and technology are crucial for development. Nuclear science plays a significant role in the achievement of many of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of health, hunger, energy and the environment. Twenty percent of global industrial water pollution comes from the textile dyeing industry. Toxic chemicals in wastewater end up in rivers and seas. A nuclear technique can help tackle this problem.

The 2016 IAEA Scientific Forum highlights the contribution of nuclear technology to the SDGs.
