Cameroon Signs its Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2024-2029

HE Dr Madeleine Tchuinte, Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation of Cameroon, and Mr Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Cameroon’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2024-2029 on 27 September 2023. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Cameroon has been an IAEA Member State since 13 July 1964. Its 2024-2029 CPF identifies 9 priority areas:

  1. Food and agriculture
  2. Human health and nutrition
  3. Animal production and health
  4. Water resources
  5. Energy resources
  6. Mineral resources and industrial applications
  7. Nuclear and radiological safety and security
  8. Human resources development
  9. Environmental protection
