From 14-17 July 2008, a Senior Management Meeting on ISO 15189 Equipment Management and Laboratory Safety for TC Project RAS/6/034 Quality Assurance Programme for Molecular-Based Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases, took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The purpose of the meeting was:
- To review the requirements of the ISO15189 standard with regard to equipment management, document management and laboratory safety.
- To review the progress made and results achieved for work done in each participating country for TB and/or hepatitis.
The objective of the project RAS/6/034 is to develop a national and regional quality management programme for accurate and cost-effective radioisotopic molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases; and to prepare the participating laboratories for accreditation.
