Representatives of nuclear regulators and plant operators, law enforcement, system and security vendors, and regional and international organisations will take part in an International Conference on Computer Security in a Nuclear World, 1-5 June 2015, at the Vienna headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The meeting is being organized in cooperation with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Accredited journalists may attend an IAEA briefing on 29 May as well as the conference's opening session and a planned closing news conference.
More than 650 experts from 92 Member States and 17 regional and international organisations are expected to participate in the first-ever meeting at the IAEA on computer security at nuclear facilities. The conference will provide a forum for sharing information and experiences and enhancing cooperation as part of global efforts to protect nuclear installations and materials from computer-based and computer-targeted attacks. - Briefing with Khammar Mrabit, Director of the IAEA Division of Nuclear Security, and conference Scientific Secretary Donald Dudenhoeffer, an IAEA Information Security Officer, in Room B0438 at 10 a.m. on 29 May.
- Journalists may attend the conference's opening session in the M-Building, Room M1/B, at 10-11:30 a.m. on 1 June, which will include an address by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano.
- A press conference is planned to be held at the conclusion of the meeting on 5 June. Details including the time and the speakers will be made public at a later stage.
