Statements in the General Debate – 5 minutes limit

In line with the time limit of 5 minutes as decided as part of the arrangements for the 65th regular session of the General Conference, delegates are kindly requested to adhere to this time limit when preparing their statements for delivery during the general debate (5 minute statements are equivalent to about 500 words).

With regards to speaking and delivering statements, delegates are encouraged to be mindful that much of the room may rely on interpretation. Speaking at a measured pace will make it possible for interpreters to render the message smoothly and accurately

Arrangements for GC(65) in view of COVID-19 restrictions
Following a series of Member States' consultations conducted by the IAEA Secretariat on the arrangements for the 65th regular session of the General Conference, Member States have agreed on arrangements so that the General Conference can pursue its work in the current circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. The arrangements provide the framework for the conduct of the General Conference and are accessible here.
