The recently published IAEA Director General’s Report on the Fukushima Daiichi Accident, along with five technical volumes by international experts, will be presented and discussed during an event held on the sidelines of the IAEA General Conference.
The report assesses the causes and consequences of the 11 March 2011 accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, triggered by a tsunami that followed a massive earthquake.
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano will make introductory remarks and Denis Flory, Deputy Director General and head of the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, will present key elements. Experts involved in writing the report will take part in the event, set to start at 9:00 a.m. on 17 September 2015 in Boardroom D of the Vienna International Centre’s C-Building.
Journalists are invited to attend the event, which will be followed by a news conference set to start at 13:30 in the Press Room on the ground floor of the VIC’s M-Building.
