The following is a transcript of remarks today by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano to the media at the Vienna International Airport before his departure for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Director General will meet senior Iranian leaders in Tehran on Monday, with the aim of strengthening dialogue and cooperation.
IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano said, "I am now travelling to Tehran, and I look forward to meeting Mr. Salehi and other senior Iranian officials.
As you know Iran presented a new proposal last month that includes practical measures to strengthen cooperation and dialogue, and we aim to build on it.
I hope the coming meeting will produce concrete results on how we move forward to resolve all outstanding issues to ensure that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively for peaceful purposes."
