‘NE News’ application released for Android devices

18 December 2013 - In response to the large number of customer requests from various IAEA social media channels, the Nuclear Information Section (NIS) has been working to extend the compatibility of the ‘NE News’ application, already available in the iTunes store for iPad and iPhone, to include devices that use the very popular Android operating system. We are pleased to announce that 'NE News' is now available for Android devices in the Google store.

A new feature of the Android version is the ability to use the application in either landscape or portrait mode, making it easier to read newsletters and documents on small displays.

As with the iPad/iPhone version, ‘NE News' for Android devices is available for free to the general public and offers full access to all newsletters, brochures and social media channels of the Department of Nuclear Energy. The 'NE News' application includes direct access to the digital library of the International Nuclear Information System (INIS) – which also incorporates the IAEA Library catalogue –, a publicly accessible digital library with over 3.6 million academic and technical publications, focusing on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
