Digitization of Agency conference proceedings and safety standards published between 1957 and 1999

11 September 2013 - In collaboration with the IAEA Library and the IAEA Publishing Section, INIS has started the digitization of old conference proceedings and safety standards published by the IAEA between 1957 and 1999. The aim of this important digital preservation project is to make available to the public, and to the different research communities, the full-texts of out of print publications through the INIS Collection Search. At present, the digitization of over 500 publications (over 180 000 pages) has been completed. This includes scanning, multilingual optical character recognition and creation of high-quality output in PDF for indexation and Web delivery. The topics range from food irradiation, nuclear imaging and uranium exploration to nuclear fusion and nuclear waste management.
