International Safety Standards
A big part of the IAEA´s statutory mandate is the establishment, and promotion, of advisory international standards and guides. Standards are issued as series publications and cover nuclear safety, radiation protection, radioactive waste management, the transport of radioactive materials, the safety of nuclear fuel cycle facilities and quality assurance. International Codes
The IAEA and its Member States also issue advisory international codes from time to time. They include:
- Code of Conduct on the Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources, issued in 2004 in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. Read more »
