The Chair of the Board of Governors for 2004-2005 is the Ambassador and Permanent Representative from Canada, Ms. Ingrid Hall. She succeeded the Governor from Spain, Mr. Antonio Núñez García Saúco.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Ms. Hall holds an honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts, both from McGill University in Montreal.

Ms. Hall took up her current assignment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna in October 2001.

Ms. Hall has served in increasingly senior positions in the Canadian Foreign Service, most notably in Headquarters as Director General, Foreign Assessments Bureau, and Director General for South and South East Asia. She also headed the Canadian Foreign Service Institute and worked on the domestic side of government in the Privy Council Office Machinery of Government.

Ms. Hall served in the Canadian missions in Washington, D.C., and in Manila, the Philippines. From 1989 to 1992, was the Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia.

Ms. Hall has been Canada's Governor on the IAEA Board of Governors for the last three years.
